Keith was born in
Cornwall and educated at Truro School; after obtaining his surveying
qualifications in 1976, he worked in Truro as a Commercial Property
Valuer and Negotiator.
In 1980, Keith set up his own practice with 2 other partners, including
Graham Dodd, named Carr Wood and Partners, which was successfully sold
to Lloyds Bank PLC in 1988.
During Keith’s 16 years with Black Horse Surveying Services
(renamed Bradford and Bingley Group Surveyors in 1998), Keith
progressed through a number of area appointments to Regional
Director-South West/Wales.
In 2001 he was appointed National Director of Bradford and Bingley
Group Commercial and in 2003 he was given a secondary appointment as
the National Director responsible for a subsidiary’s National
Consultancy Network.
In 2004, Keith left Bradford and Bingley PLC to join DowlingDodd in
order to spend the remaining 10/15 years of his career working locally;
whilst Keith has extensive experience in all professional areas, he
specialises in commercial, business and development property
valuations.
Keith is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Julian
grew up in the Truro area and was educated at Redruth Grammar
School; he studied surveying in Bristol qualifying some 25 years ago.
During his career he has worked throughout Cornwall surveying and
valuing property for private and corporate clients specialising in both
residential and commercial property.
During the 1980’s, Julian was a partner with the substantial
local partnership named Jose Collins and Harris, which was subsequently
sold to the Leeds Building Society.
Julian was one of the first surveyors in the county to carry out Mundic
Block Testing.
Julian returned to private practice in 2005 after 12 years working for
one of the largest national surveying chains where he was responsible
for leading a team of corporate surveyors covering the South West of
England.
Julian is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
On leaving school in
1980, Paul studied Valuations and Estate Management for three years at
Bristol following which he spent two years in commercial agency in
Southampton.
After qualifying, Paul decided to specialise in the field of
residential survey and valuation, over the next nine years working in
private practice in Berkshire, Surrey, Hampshire and Dorset.
In 1994 Paul relocated to Cornwall with his family and joined
DowlingDodd continuing mainly in the field of residential survey and
valuation, carrying out Building Surveys, Homebuyers Survey and
Valuation reports, Concrete Screening Tests and other associated
professional work.
Paul is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Sarah
graduated from the University of Central England with an Honours
Degree in Estate Management in 1990 and subsequently worked for the
British Rail Property Board in Bristol and then the Property Services
Agency at Plymouth.
During Sarah's subsequent career, she worked for a regional specialist
firm of commercial property consultants, and in 1994 she accepted an
appointment to work for Pinders Plc specialising in the wide business
spectrum of healthcare, retail, licensed and leisure sectors.
In the latter part of the 1990's through to 2007, Sarah owned and
operated her own firm of Estate Agents and Surveyors whilst
simultaneously working as a consultant to Taylor's Business Surveyors
and Valuers, a National Company. From 1996 to 1997 Sarah worked within
Taylor's head office undertaking a strategical analytical review of all
of the valuation reports undertaken by valuers in the field, prior to
them being dispatched to clients; this was a senior position, during
which time she worked closely with the Directors.
Sarah now runs The Harrower Partnership, a small independent firm of
Chartered Surveyors and provides strategic consultancy to DowlingDodd
Chartered Surveyors.
Sarah specialises in the Valuation and Survey of all types of
residential, commercial and business property, together with associated
affiliated work, including Expert Witness and Development Appraisals.
Sarah is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
After
leaving Hull Grammar School in 1980 Simon joined the Royal Navy
and served until 1989. After a period working in the Middle East for
British Aerospace he returned to the UK to work for Sedco Forex as a
Drilling Rig safety officer in the North Sea.
In 2005 Simon undertook Home Inspector training with the Building
Research Establishment and the University of the West of England at
Bristol. After a period of providing Domestic Energy Performance
Certificates to Private and Social Landlords he completed a Diploma in
Non Domestic Energy Assessment again with the Building Research
Establishment. Simon is currently undertaking a BSc in Building
Surveying with the
College of Estate Management in Reading.
As an accredited expert under the Energy Performance Of Buildings
Directive, Simon is able to provide advice on building
owner’s obligations under the directive and provide Energy
Performance Certificates for both Commercial and Domestic buildings.
